Itinerary

Cherrapunjee (4690Ft / 1430 Mts, 200 Kms / 05 to 07 Hrs drive approx) Meet and Greet on arrival at Guwahati Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) and transfer to Cherrapunjee. En route you will visit the largest manmade lake of Northeast India – Umium Lake (also known as Barapani Lake), Elephant Fall & Duwan Sin Syiem (View Point). Reached Cherrapunjee, check in at the Hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

Cherrapunjee – Double Decker – Cherrapunjee (Long & Tiring Day) (Closed on Sunday) (No advisable during Monsoon as the terrain will be slippery) Cherrapunjee (4690 Ft / 1430 Mts) After breakfast go for a trek to Double Decker Living Root Bridge – 3 to 4 hours walk oneway from the starting point (depending on the Fitness of the guest). The distance cover is around 4 km one-way with down and up of 1000 feet height approx. This trek goes downhill through village Sohsarat. The steps are relatively steeper in two short stretches. Half the distance is covered by steps going downhill. Then there is a jungle path going along the sides of the hill leading to the Living Root Bridge with a few steps after short stretches of sloping foot path. Moss thrives on these sandstone steps during the monsoon and makes them slippery, hence one need to be extra careful. Later trek back to the starting point and then board your vehicle to drive back to the hotel. Overnight at Cherrapunjee.

Cherrapunjee (4690Ft / 1430 Mts) After breakfast visit – Arwah Cave / Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later drive back to hotel. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Mawlynnong (4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 80 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive approx oneway from Cherrapunjee) Optional to Dawki Lake (5904 Ft / 1800 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 to 02 Hrs drive approx oneway from Mawlynnong) Shillong (5002 Ft / 1525 Mts, 90 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive approx oneway from Dawki Lake) Wake up early and have your breakfast and drive to Mawlynnong. Today you can explore the cleanest village Mawlynnong in the world. You can take the sky walk to have a spectacular view of the Single living Root Bridge.Drive to Shillong for overnight stay. Optional: After lunch drive to Dawki. Dawki is the gateway to Bangladesh where major export and import transactions take place. It is a splendid drive of 45 kilometers passing through deep gorges and ravines, which is certainly a thrilling experience. On approaching Dawki is the Umngot River, The Umngot River is the natural boundary between Ri Pnar or Jaintia Hills with Hima Khyrim of Khasi hills over which a single span suspension bridge was constructed. Mawlynnong village, situated at about 100 Kms ahead of Shillong on the Shillong-Dawki Road, 30 kms from Pynursla, is a village of 75 households with a population of 400. An idyllic location, this village epitomizes a standard, which all other villages need to aspire to be. Dubbed the cleanest village in India by Discover India Magazine, the primary Village School till class V boasts of its no dropout record and the village of 90 % literacy. Paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed all along mark the village, with waterfalls, *a living root bridge, hilly rivulets, acacia plantation and an excellent view of the faraway plains of Bangladesh all contribute to the ambience of this village. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of this Village and with the village headman himself taking the responsibility of making visitors comfortable, a day in this village gives an insight into the life of the Khasis, the influence of the Church and its metamorphosis.

Mwaphlang (4906 Ft / 1496 Mts, 30 Kms / 01 to 01 ½ Hrs drive approx oneway from Shillong) After breakfast go for a excursion to Mawphlang Sacred Forest. Later proceed for the local sightseeing visit Don Bosco Museum (Sunday Closed), Ward’s Lake (Closed on Tuesday) located at the heart of the city which is popular for its garden walks and boating, Lady Hydari Park (Closed on Monday) & Cathedral of Mary. Overnight Stay at Shillong.

Laitlum Canyons (4907 Ft / 1496 Mts, 25 Kms / 45 Minutes to 01Hrs drive from Shillong) Krangsuri (3000 Ft / 915 Mts, 85 Kms / 03 ½ to 04 Hrs drive from Nartang) Shillong (5002 Ft / 1525 Mts, 90 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive from Krangshuri) After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer Laitum Canyons. Witness the breathtaking Landscape of Laitlum canyons nestled in the majestic hills of Meghalaya at a distance of 25 kms from Shillong. Proceed to Krangsuri Water fall (Jowai). After enjoy the beauty of falls drive back to Shillong. Check in & Overnight stay at Shillong.

Guwahati (1148 Ft / 350 Mts, 140 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs drive approx) After breakfast check out and proceed to Guwahati. Upon reaching at Guwahati visit Kamakhya Temple (VIP entry ticket on direct payment basis), Umananda Shiv Temple (Ferry Charge on direct payment) & Navegraha Temple. Later drive to the hotel and check in. Overnight at Guwahati.

Sualkuchi (100 Ft / 31Mts, 35 Kms / 01 to 01 ½ Hrs drive) After breakfast drive to Sualkuchi weavers' village along with visit to Greater Adjutant Stork & BastraUdyan. Sualkuchi village: Assam produces three unique varieties of silks, the Golden Muga, the White Pat and the warm Eri. Silks grown all over the state find their way to Sualkuchi. Sualkuchi is one of the world’s largest weaving villages. The entire population here is engaged in weaving exquisite silk fabrics. A renowned center of silk production, particularly known for Muga - the golden silk of Assam, which is not, produced anywhere else in the world. It is customary for an Assamese bride to wear a traditional set in paat silk during her wedding. One can distinctly hear the rhythm of the shuttles of the looms as soon as one enters this craft village. Sualkuchi, the biggest village of Assam, situated on the north bank of the mighty Brahmaputra. Overnight at Guwahati.

Guwahati (1148 Ft / 350 Mts, 25 Kms / 01 Hrs drive approx) After breakfast transfer to Guwahati Airport (GAU) / Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) for onwards connection.
